Frequently asked questions

What are your fees?

The standard fee for a 45-50 minute session is $115. Fees for longer or shorter sessions are prorated based on this fee. The initial intake session is 50 minutes long and is $115.

A sliding scale is offered at the discretion of the therapist. This can only be offered to clients who are not filing insurance.

What if I am unsure of my next step?

Sometimes taking the first step can be nerve racking. I get it, we have not met and not every question can be answered on a website.
I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to process next steps with any potential new client.
This phone consultation does NOT replace the initial appointment.

Is your counseling practice a safe space?

Yes! Megan Baron Counseling is a safe space for all clients regardless of ethnicity, gender, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status or disability.
You are WELCOMED here.

Do you take insurance?

We are in-network with BlueCross BlueShield. You are responsible for confirming coverage with insurance ahead of your first appointment. You are responsible for any fees not covered by insurance.

In the event that I am out of network with your insurance, I can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company ahead of time to ensure reimbursement.

Do you prescribe medicine?

No, as Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor I am not certified/authorized to prescribe medication. In the need of medication, I will work with your psychiatrist and medical doctor to give you the best care.

Do you offer virtual/telehealth?

Yes! Megan Baron Counseling now offers virtual therapy. Please reach out for more information on this service.

Are you a Christian therapist?

I received my Masters in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I do not consider myself, solely, as a Christian therapist. I only integrate faith and spirituality when requested by the client.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions.
